Paris Saint-Germain defeated Arsenal 2-1 to book their ticket to the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League final in Munich.
Goals from Fabian Ruiz and Achraf Hakimi gave PSG the victory as the French giants claimed a 3-1 aggregate win.
Having won 1-0 at the Emirates stadium in the first leg, PSG were choked at the beginning of the second leg, as Arsenal looked to open an early lead.
Declan Rice nodded Jurrien Timber’s cross wide from six yards, before Gianluigi Donnarumma deny the North London twice.
The Italy goalkeeper stopped Gabriel Martinelli’s close range chance and parried a fierce volley from Martin Odegaard around the post.
However, The Ligue 1 champions turned the tide around as they started pilling the pressure on Arsenal.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia curls a brilliant effort onto the far post, before Desire Doue’s weak shot was easily saved by David Raya.
Les Parisiens eventually got the breakthrough as Spain ace, Fabian Ruiz broke the deadlock in the 27th minute. The Spanish midfielder latched Thomas Partey clearance, evaded Martinelli and saw a left-footed strike deflect in off William Saliba.
Luis Enrique’s side were almost two goals up but Bradley Barcola saw a clear chance blocked by Rice and David Raya.
Donnarumma once again saved PSG as he fully stretched to parry Saka’s exquisite bending effort.
PSG were then gifted a chance to make it 2-0 when Myles Lewis-Skelly was judged to have handled Hakimi’s shot in the area. Referee Felix Zwayer visited the VAR monitor before pointing to the spotkick, but Raya saved Vitinha’s weak penalty low.
Howbeit, the second goal came for the hosts as Hakimi brilliantly bent an effort into the bottom-right corner.
Arsenal got a consolation goal when Saka finished from Leandro Trossard’s centre at the second attempt. The English international then woefully blazed over from inside the six-yard box as Arsenal fell short.
Paris Saint-Germain eventually won the contest, defeating Mikel Arteta’s side on both legs to book their place in the final.
Les Parisiens will be facing Inter Milan on May 31, for their second UCL final ever.
