Jonathan Tah has completed the switch from Bayer Leverkusen to rivals Bayern Munich on a free transfer.

The German signed a four-year contract with the Bundesliga champions, after leaving Werkself.

Tah, who made 402 appearances for Leverkusen, helped win the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal in their invincible 2023-24 season.

“I’m very happy to be at FC Bayern. I want to take on responsibility here and work hard every day so that we’re successful as a team and win lots of trophies together,” Tah said.

Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen expressed his delighted in Tah’s signing, tagging him as an experienced player.

“We’re very pleased to welcome Jonathan Tah to FC Bayern. As an experienced international and top-level player, he brings stability and strength to our team. He will strengthen our defense significantly. He’s a real asset, and he’s proven he knows how to win titles.”

Meanwhile, Tah started his senior career at Hamburg and joined Leverkusen in 2015. He made his Germany debut during his first year at the club and has racked up 35 international appearances.
