Jannik Sinner became the youngest man in the Open Era to reach 5 consecutive Grand Slam finals after beating Felix Auger Aliassime on Friday.
The 24-year-old Italian and world no.1 who took an injury timeout in the second set fought off strong challenges from the Canadian and also injury struggles to earn a 6-1 3-6 6-3 6-4 victory and reach back to back finals.

With the victory, Jannik Sinner (2024-25) is the fourth player in the Open Era to reach Back to Back Men’s Singles finals at the Australian and US Open after Jimmy Connors (1974-75), Roger Federer (2006-07) and Novak Djokovic (2011-13, 15-16).
Sinner will hope to defend his title in Sunday’s title match against modern rival Carlos Alcaraz after the Spaniard had earlier defeated Novak Djokovic in straight sets to book his own spot.
