Barcelona boss Hansi Flick has voiced his displeasure over the club’s ongoing struggles to register new signings, with goalkeeper Joan Garcia still yet to be cleared ahead of Sunday’s La Liga opener against RCD Mallorca, Sixsports report.

The situation mirrors last season, when Dani Olmo missed the first two games due to registration delays. Flick admitted he isn’t happy with the repeat scenario.

Flick told Barcelona’s media, as captured by Sixsports during the presser last Friday. The Gaffer told the Club media this:

“For me, it’s a situation that doesn’t make me too happy. I trust the club; we have to wait until tomorrow. Last season was like that too. We’re focusing on what’s in our hands.”

When asked if patience was something he’d developed since joining Barcelona, Flick chuckled:

“(Laughs)… I think it’s good to improve throughout your whole life, so I want to get better at these things.”

This week has also seen heated debate over the RFEF’s approval for Villarreal’s ‘home’ clash with Barcelona to be staged in Miami — a move criticised across Spain. Flick refused to be drawn into the controversy.

“I don’t know what to say, I haven’t thought about it yet… I’m just focused on the next game.”

Looking ahead, Flick stressed that Barcelona’s target is not just silverware, but sustained improvement.

“Three titles isn’t the end, it’s the beginning. We want to improve. It’s about maintaining a winning mentality, and we’re on the right track.”

Kick-off against Mallorca at Son Moix is set for 19:30 CEST on Sunday.
