Galatasaray has secured its 19th Turkish Cup title in club history, defeating Trabzonspor 3-0 in Gaziantep to extend its record.

Goal from Barış Alper Yılmaz and a brace from Victor Osimhen gave the Turkish giants the victory.

Okan Buruk’s side took the lead as early as the fifth minute, through Yilmaz. The Turkey international received the ball from Akgun, positioned well before striking the ball into the bottom left corner.

The first-half ended 1-0 despite Galatasaray attacking threats, as Trabzonspor stood solid to deny Buruk’s side.

However, Galatasaray doubled the lead a minute after the restart of the game. Akgün once again was the provider, feeding Osimhen on the right side of the box. The Nigerian overpowered his marker and fired a powerful, low right-footed shot from a tight angle to increase the scoreline.

The on-loan striker from Napoli then sealed the game after just over an hour, as Akgun once again delivered an assist in a brilliant manner.

The Turkish outmaneuvered two defenders and delivered a cross in front of goal for Osimhen, who calmly slotted home to make it 3-0.

Trabzonspor looked to have gotten a consolation goal when Anthony Nwakaeme found the back of the net. However, the effort was ruled out due to an offside call against Oleksandr Zubkov during the buildup.

On the other end, Morata’s late goal was also disallowed for offside against the Spaniard, as Galatasaray won the game to secure the Turkiye Kupasi title.

Meanwhile, Osimhen surpassed Mario Jardel as Galatasaray’s highest-scoring foreign player in a single campaign, with his 35th official goal.
