Tottenham launch £55m offer for Eze with talks underway

Tottenham Hotspur have stepped up their pursuit of Eberechi Eze after submitting a bid worth £55 million plus £5 million in potential add-ons to Crystal Palace.

Talks are underway between Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and Palace counterpart Steve Parish, with negotiations expected to accelerate over the coming days.

SixSports have gathered that Eze has already made his stance clear. The midfielder informed Palace last week that he would like to make the move to North London, having agreed personal terms with Tottenham.

The 26-year-old has developed into one of Palace’s key players since joining from Queens Park Rangers in 2020. His creativity, dribbling ability and eye for goal have made him a standout performer in the Premier League. Last season he contributed nine goals and six assists across all competitions, despite missing a spell through injury.

Tottenham view Eze as an ideal addition to Thomas Frank’s attacking system. With his ability to operate as a central playmaker or from the left, he would bring extra versatility to a side that just lost key player , Son Heung Mon, and are pushing for a stronger finish in the Premier League.

For Palace, losing their talisman would represent a major blow. Eze signed a new contract in November 2023, tying him to Selhurst Park until 2027, but the lure of European football and the chance to compete at a higher level has convinced the player that now is the right time to move.

The fee on the table from Spurs is significant but still falls short of Palace’s initial valuation, with the South London club thought to be holding out for a figure closer to £70 million. However, the willingness of Eze to make the switch could influence negotiations in Tottenham’s favour.

As talks continue, both clubs will weigh their positions carefully. For Spurs, landing Eze would mark one of the biggest moves of the summer. For Palace, it could be the end of a chapter with one of their brightest talents.
