After several years of trials, Paris Saint-Germain achieved the biggest club football feat, winning Europe’s most prestigious competition.

PSG, led by Luis Enrique triumphed in the UEFA Champions League final, defeating Simone Inzaghi’s Inter Milan for their first historic title.

Les Parisiens dismantled the Italians 5-0 to claim the largest win margin in a final in the tournament’s history.

The French giants have sought for this glory, since the Qatari State took over 14 years ago. They went on acquiring top guns such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, David Beckham, Edinson Cavani, Angel Di Maria, Neymar Jr., Kylian Mbappe, and Lionel Messi, with managers including Carlo Ancelotti, Unai Emery, Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino.

However, Luis Enrique attained the feat without a galactico, but with a display of thrilling youth’s exuberance. His squad had an average age of 24.

Quite evident, as goals from Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Senny Mayulu, plus a double from Desire Doue, gave them the success.

Playing against an experienced Inter team with an average age of 30, the youthful French side showed supremacy.

The game bursted into life as PSG to an early dominance of the elderly Inter Milan side, courtesy of Hakimi’s 12th minute goal.

Vitinha opened Inter’s defence with a cute pass to Doue, who beautifully squared for Hakimi’s tap into an empty post.

Enrique’s side turned the game into a one-sided one, as they doubled the lead eight minutes after. Kvaratskhelia released Dembele, who sprinted down the left and picked out Doue with a crossfield pass.

The young Frenchman chested down and rifled a shot which deflected off Federico Dimarco, leaving Yann Sommer on his knees.

Inter lazily sought for their opener but ended the first-half behind by two goals, as Franceso Acerbi and Marcus Thuram were both off-target with headers.

The Ligue 1 champions came back into the second half to complete the demolition of the Italians. They made it three in the 63rd minutes, with Doué again adding his name into the scoresheet.

Dembele brilliantly fed Vitinha with a back-heel pass, who surged forward before releasing Doué. The youngster outran Acerbi before finding the bottom right corner with a fine finish.

Ten minutes after, Kvaratskhelia rifled home at the near post from a Dembele pass. Mayulu then rubbed salt in Inter wounds with a late strike from Bradley Barcola’s assist in the 86th minute.

En route to this glorious Munich success, Luis Enrique’s side have seen off four Premier League clubs and Bayern Munich.

The triumph makes it the fifth time Munich staged a European Cup Final, which has been won by first timers. PSG joined the likes of Nottingham Forest, Marseille, Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea.

It is also the third time Inter Milan are losing a UCL final to a first time winner, first to Celtic and then Manchester City.

The Munich success makes PSG the second French side to claim the trophy. Olympique Marseille won it first, against another Milan side, AC Milan, also at Munich.

The final also dished out another history, with Doue and Mayulu becoming the third and fourth teenager to score in a Champions League final. Patrick Kluivert in 1995 and Carlos Alberto in 2004, were the first and second.

PSG thus made it a treble victory, having claimed the French league and Coupe de France.

Meanwhile, Inter bottled their treble, losing Serie A to Napoli, before fumbling in the Coppa Italia semis against AC Milan.
