Aryna Sabalenka once again showed why she is considered one of the most dominant players in women’s tennis as she clinched her second US Open title with a thrilling 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 victory over Amanda Anisimova under the lights of Arthur Ashe Stadium.
The Belarusian, who came into New York with high expectations, was tested throughout the three-hour battle but relied on her trademark power and newfound composure to outlast the fast-rising American. Reflecting after the match, Sabalenka admitted this was one of the most emotional victories of her career.
