Jude Bellingham stole the headline once again as Real Madrid asserted their dominance over Girona with a commanding 4-0 victory at the Santiago Bernabéu to extend their lead at the top of the La Liga table to five points and stretch their unbeaten home run to 17 games.

The highly anticipated top-of-the-table clash between both teams was expected to be closely contested, but Madrid wasted no time in displaying their superiority, as Vinicius Junior broke the deadlock just six minutes into the game with a superbly curled shot.

About 29 minutes later, Jude Bellingham doubled the Los Blancos lead by rounding goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga after receiving a wonderful pass from Vinicius to net his 15th La Liga goal ( the highest in the league currently), as Girona’s toothlessness continued into the break.

2nd half: Real Madrid vs Girona

Carlo Ancelotti’s team continued their dominant performance in the second half, with Vinicius and Bellingham combining again for another goal in the 54th minute, resulting in the ex-Dortmund star grabbing his 20th goal for Madrid in all competition to become the joint-highest scoring Englishman in Real Madrid’s history.

Bellingham was however unable to carry on and possibly get a hat-trick, as he was substituted off due to a discomfort he had felt in the first half.

In the 61st minute, Rodrygo scored Real’s fourth goal, his 50th for the club, which was assisted by his compatriot —Vinicius.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men had the opportunity to grab a fifth goal from the spot, but Joselu couldn’t direct his effort into the net after fellow substitute Arda Güler had done well to win a penalty for the side.

Although Ancelloti insisted the win is inconsequential to La Liga’s eventual winner, this victory sent Real Madrid five points clear on the La Liga table, and in a promising position to win their 36th league title.
