With the announcement of a high-profile preseason friendly between Tottenham and Bayern Munich, Harry Kane is scheduled to make an emotional homecoming to the N17 this summer. The two teams officially announced the date on Wednesday morning.
The German side will play at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on August 10, one week ahead of the start of the 2024–25 Premier League season and two weeks before the Bundesliga resumes. Tickets will undoubtedly sell out quickly when Kane returns to action following his sensational summer transfer to Bavaria and gets ready to take the pitch against Tottenham for the first time.
The 30-year-old left on good terms, and if he helps his present team eliminate Arsenal—a fierce rival of Spurs—from their upcoming Champions League quarterfinal, he may return as an even greater hero. Spurs’ all-time top goalscorer, Kane, passed the illustrious Jimmy Greaves in February 2023.
It will be difficult to top Kane’s 280 goals, even though Son Heung-min is chasing him. With 159 goals so far, the South Korean ranks tied for fifth on the club’s all-time scoring list. Following his forced absence from both of England’s friendlies during the March international window due to an ankle injury, Bayern hopes to get Kane back sooner rather than later.
In less than two weeks, the Bundesliga’s all-time greatest scorer, Arsenal, will make his first trip back to north London in the Champions League. He will undoubtedly want to be completely prepared.
