LaMelo Ball, the point guard for the Hornets, made his court debut Friday night in Charlotte’s 135-99 loss to the San Antonio Spurs after missing 20 games.
Ball played in his first game since spraining his right ankle on November 26 at Orlando, finishing with 28 points, five assists, and five steals.
Ball, 22, was only able to play in 33 games previous season due to surgery on the same ankle.
Two minutes into the second quarter, Brandon Miller, the top choice in the NBA Draft, fell headfirst into the basket stanchion, bruising his lower back and throwing off a confrontation between him and Victor Wembanyama.
In 20 minutes, Wembanyama finished with 26 points and 11 rebounds.
