Stephen Curry to battle Sabrina Ionescu in first-ever NBA vs. WNBA 3-Point Challenge

The NBA announced on Tuesday that guards Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors and Sabrina Ionescu of the New York Liberty will square off in a head-to-head 3-point competition.

The match, dubbed “Stephen vs. Sabrina,” will mark the inaugural NBA vs. WNBA 3-Point Challenge and happen on Saturday, February 17 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis during State Farm All-Star Saturday Night.
The NBA and WNBA will donate to Curry’s Eat.Learn.Play and Ionescu’s SI20 Foundation, both players are competing for charitable causes.

The money ball is worth $2,000, each made 3-pointer during the competition is worth $1,000, and a 3-pointer known as the “STARRY Range Ball” that is made from 29 feet, 9 inches away is worth $3,000. With 3,577 made 3-pointers, Curry holds the NBA record. He has also been selected to the first team All-NBA four times, and was named NBA MVP twice.

Ionescu led the Liberty to the WNBA Finals the previous season with an average of 17 points, 5.6 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 44.8 percent of her three-pointers made. She also established a WNBA record with 128 3-pointers made.
