Arsenal and England full-back Ben White has signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal.

White committed his future to Arsenal by signing a new deal that will keep him at the Emirates Stadium until 2028, with an option to extend for one year.

The 26-year-old joined the Gunners in 2021 in a £50 million deal from Brighton. He overcame a tricky debut at Brentford to establish himself as a key player for Mikel Arteta’s defence. Meanwhile, in his second season in north London, White was moved out to right back, where he has continued to excel ever since. He has become a crucial part of Arsenal’s attempts to win both the Premier League and Champions League this season.

According to the article, while contract negotiations with the team were still underway, White’s representatives approached Analytics FC, a data-driven sports consultancy organisation. A detailed analysis from the firm demonstrated how the player has thrived as a central defender and full-back in recent seasons. Thus highlighting the intricate facets of his game that are distinctive.

Sporting Director Edu said: “We are so happy to have completed a new long-term contract with Ben. Since Ben joined us, his contribution and commitment have been of such high quality. Our supporters love him, we love him and we look forward to enjoying Ben’s performances with us for years to come.”

Also, Arteta said: “It’s great news that Ben is committing his future to the club. Ben is a key player for us, a top professional with a winning mentality. And one of the guys who leads by example every day. Ben’s ability, determination, and positive attitude are so important, but he is also a great character and human being. We all look forward to continuing to work with Ben in the coming years.”

Reports also say that White is fit to play for some of the finest European clubs, such as AC Milan, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City. This is because of his ability to make short and accurate passes. After declining a call-up to England’s next international friendly, the defender will be back in action on March 31 when Mikel Arteta’s team faces Manchester City.
